About

Hey! I’m the Jersey Girl, but you can call me Cris. I’m the woman behind this whole thing.

Haven’t you ever wondered where the name “Jersey Girl” came from? It’s because I started this whole journey making jerseys!

Jersey Girl started as a personal project out of a desire to have a cute baseball mom jersey that no one else had. Within days of creating that very first jersey, a dozen people asked if they could get one, too. As word spread, I was faced with the reality that dozens of people had the same jersey as me, I began coming up with new designs, and the process repeated all over again. Needing a better way to manage all of the jerseys I was being asked to create, Jersey Girl was born — because, believe it or not, that was the only thing I used to make!

But jerseys can be unaffordable for a lot of people, so I decided to create t-shirts from those same designs for those who couldn’t afford one, but still wanted something cute to wear to their kids’ games. The very first t-shirt I ever made was this baseball mom shirt:

Unfortunately, I unwittingly made it for a mom on the opposing team my kid played the very next day. So the first time I got to see one of my creations in the wild, it was while watching my kid’s team get absolutely crushed in a gnarly almost-no-hitter.

That mom came up to me after the game to tell me four other moms wanted to order one, and soon, others were again asking for versions for different sports. By the end of the year, I had over 100 different designs across eight different sports. Five years later, that’s expanded to over more than 1,000 designs across 15 different sports.

I still hand-make and hand-pack every single shirt I sell myself (okay, sometimes with help from my husband). That’s my handwriting on your note, my thoughts in the contents. I hope the day never comes where I can’t personally pack every order I ship out. There’s something deeply personal about it for me, creating something for someone else to wear to their child’s games or to give as a gift to the new baby in their family, and I feel honored to be connected to so many people that I’ve never and probably will never met, but still feel like I know in some small way.

Jersey Girl is veteran-owned and deeply committed to veteran issues. And also the Red Sox. Well, maybe not this year.

Thank you for stopping by and allowing me to be part of your family’s special moments

Love,

PS — yes, I am actually from New Jersey. Fly Eagles Fly!
